Registration
The conference registration fees provide a discount for early registration (before September 1st) as well as a discount for IA-CAP members. Registration fees are payable in US dollars. In the case of on-site registration we will accept credit card payment or US currency. Registration payment is available on-line through PayPal. The registration payments will be made to Carson Reynolds, the conference program co-chair.
Travel Access
AP-CAP 2009 will be hosted at the University of Tokyo's Hongo campus which is located in the Bunkyo ward of Tokyo. International visitors will likely use Tokyo's Narita Airport as an arrival point. To travel from Narita to Tokyo consider the Keisei Skyliner which terminates at Ueno station. In the vicinity of Ueno station are a number of hotels detailed below.
The university is locally accessible from a large number of subway and JR stations. An access map is available on the University of Tokyo website. The Tokyo Metro subway system also has an online trasfer guide which may aid planning.
The conference itself will be hosted at the University of Tokyo's Sanjo Conference Hall. Its location inside the university may be found on this campus map. An interactive map to the conference location is available on google maps.
Accomodations
Here we provide a list of accommodations which are conveniently located near the conference site. Accomodations are sorted by proximity; those at the top of this list are closer than those toward the end.
- Forest Hongo: a modern hotel close to the University of Tokyo.
- Homeikan: a group of ryokan which offer the unusual experience of a traditional Japanese guesthouse.
- Ueno Hotel Park Side: a newer hotel with views of Ueno park.
- Astil Ueno Hotel: a basic hotel which is easy to find from Narita Airport.
- Ueno Terminal Hotel: an affordable option which is also near Ueno station.
- Tokyo Dome Hotel: a very large hotel close to the Tokyo baseball stadium not far from the conference site.
- Mandarin Oriental Tokyo: a luxury hotel a short subway ride from the University of Tokyo.
