IACAP Events
CAP conferences evolved from early workshops on computer assisted logic software to conferences that cover all aspects of the computational and informational turn that is occurring in the discipline and in our society. Speakers and panels address topics that include, for example, AI, Robotics and Epistemology, Information and Computer Ethics, Computing and World Cultures, Electronic Resources in Philosophy, new models of Logic Software, and the Impact of Distance Learning on the Profession.
Keynote Addresses emphasize either theoretical or pedagogical aspects of the computational/informational turn as well as applications of CAP interests to the larger communities of theory and praxis.
Over time, Regional CAP conferences have given titles to Keynote Addresses (like the Herbert A. Simon Keynote Address) to recognize the special contributions of some individuals.
CAP conferences discourage mere paper-reading and encourage lively discussions and collegial networking that take full advantage of the new presentation technologies.
CAP conferences often serve as a stimulus for collaboration in both publication efforts and fund raising.
