Contact the hotel directly. Inform the reservation staff person that you are attending the 2010 North American Conference on Computing and Philosophy. Unless you identify yourself as a conference participant, you may be unable to obtain a room. The group code is NACAP.

We encourage you to make your reservation early as accommodations are often difficult to secure during the month of July – a busy month on campus for academic conferences. The conference block of hotel rooms will be released to the general public approximately 1 month before the conference.

Rates

Estimated hotel room rates reserved for NACAP at the Holiday Inn range from $129 per night.

All rooms are subject to state and county taxes.

Internet Access

Wireless internet access is available at the Holiday Inn.

Pittsburgh Hotels

Although we encourage you to join your colleagues by staying at the host hotel, Pittsburgh has a number of locally owned hotels, bed and breakfasts as well as national and international hotel chains. Most accommodations are within easy driving distance of campus. Some facilities are within walking distance of campus:

Dormitory Accomodations: Carnegie Mellon University

For those seeking economical single room lodging, a block of air-conditioned rooms is available for NA-CAP participants at Resnik House.

Resnik House is located in the center of the CMU Campus. (CMU Campus Map)

Rooms

$37.00/night per person in double accommodations (2 ppl per room) in an A/C premium suite with linen

$65.00/night in double as single accommodations (1 person per room) in an A/C premium suite with linen

Linens include towel, wash cloth, pillow, pillowcase, top and bottom sheet, comforter.  It is your responsibility to provide your own toiletries.

You may select your suite mate or we will assign you a same gender suite mate (see housing reservations section, available on the conference registration form - coming soon).

ADA accommodations are available. Any special needs/accommodations must be indicated on your housing form.

Reservations

To reserve a single, air-conditioned room at Resnik House, refer to the “Registration” section of this web site (Registration page will be active soon).

Reservation Deadline: Friday, June 25, 2010 (on-site reservations are not available)

Cancellation of Reservations

You may cancel reservations at Resnik House anytime up to June 25 by emailing your request to the Conference Registrar at: confserv@andrew.cmu.edu.

A cancellation charge of one night’s lodging will be assessed for any cancellation after June 25.

Meals

Food events included in your registration fee include:

  • Light Continental Breakfast. Saturday – Sunday July 24 - 25
  • Banquet. Saturday, July 24 (Ticketed)
  • Morning and afternoon refreshment breaks. Saturday – Sunday July 24 - 25

Dining in Pittsburgh

There are many pleasant pubs, restaurants and coffee houses located a short walking distance from campus.

  • South Craig Street is a nearby area where you will find many casual eating options. It is a 10 minute walk from CMU.
  • Squirrel Hill and Shadyside are nearby neighborhoods where you will find a variety of restaurants in a relaxed setting, many with outdoor seating.
