Abstract
In this paper I will explore the current revolution underlying cognitive science, in particular Artificial Intelligence. This new approach is often called embodied, situated or interactionistic. I will argue that both the classical and new paradigm are somehow incommensurable. While functionality and representation prefigure classic AI, embodiment and situatedness found new work in Robotics. The foundations of the rationalist tradition and the historical critique that forms phenomenology are at the core of the paradigm swift.
